- One of UWIKA’s laboratories that will be repaired through PHP-PTS
University of Widya Kartika (UWIKA) showed its existence in world of education in Indonesia. This year, UWIKA was trusted by the Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti) as a Private University (PTS) which was worth in managing Private University Development and Improvement Programs (PHP-PTS). Total fundentrusted to the campus which was located at Jalan Sutorejo Prima Utara II / 1, Surabaya was half of a billion.
Arief Budijanto, ST, MT, as Team Leader of UWIKA’s PHP-PTS said, the grant was a form of Dikti’s belief to UWIKA. “Because, if there were no trust, that much fund would not be given to us. In addition, the acquisition of these grants showed that this campus still exist and thrive, “he said.
F. Priyo Suprobo, ST, MT, the Vice Chairman of Uwika’s PHP-PTS team also added, this year, the management of these funds will be directed to the improvement of human resources (HR) and the provision of educational facilities. Therefore, it will be significant enough to support continuation of the lecture. “Starting from the procurement of laboratory, revamping and renovation of existing laboratories, procurement of books of literature, preparation of lecture modules, up to debriefing skills for teachers and educational staff,” said the bespectacled lecturer.
Hopefully, with the addition of facilities and improvement of human resources and learning tools, students can be actively innovative. So, later when they have graduated, what they have got, either knowledge or skills, will be ready to be applied.
Meanwhile, UWIKA’s Rector, Dr. Murpin Josua Sembiring, S.E., M.Sc., said that this achievement was only the beginning. UWIKA will do the mandate as well as possible. “All the actions that arise of this program should be done on the track, according to the rules and regulations. It’s about accountability to the community. Because it’s people’s money, “he said.
He added that the team appointed to manage the fund consists of competent individuals. Procurement of goods and receipts will be monitored well so it won’t be done against the procedures. “For the supply too. We follow the rules. We have prepared the experts who are certified for the procurement bidding system,”he said.
He hoped that next year, UWIKA can continue to earn the trust from Dikti. Thus, improving the quality of UWIKA’s services and lectures and also graduates can continue to rise. “That’s our hope,” he concluded.
