Until nowadays, Government had implemented safety nets for communities from business practician. Companies were required to provide feedback in form of corporate social responsibility (CSR). However, in the future, responsibility for the environment should also be able to cover the physical side, such as the heritage.

It was delivered by Imam Widodo Dukut, artist and author of numerous books about the condition of some of the cities in the past. He delivered his ideas in front of participants of Surabaya Heritage Discussion which was held by Architecture Department of Widya Kartika University (Uwika) in the atrium of Grand City Mall Surabaya, Thursday, February 7, 2013. “It is the time when the companies have to pay attention and take care the heritage. Thus, in addition to CSR, Heritage Corporate Responsibility needs to be applied as well, “he said.

He considered, at this time, there were many ingenuine historical relics. Some buildings were restored for the reason of renovations and repairs. However, the end result, a new model of the building replaced the previous form.

Dukut took sample of Mbah Bungkul’s Tomb Gate. “It was not like that. Now it didn’t even reflect the shape of the building of any age, “he said, while pointing to the photo on the white screen.

The discussion was followed by dozens of participants. Visitors who were interested in listening to the discussion took place on chairs provided. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees from Yayasan Pendidikan dan Pengajaran Indonesia (YPPI), Mr. Budiadi Eka Santosa was also there.

The atmosphere became smoother because there was a documentary movie about the early days of independence played during the discussion. Some old photos also appeared on the slide. Starting from Tunjungan road conditions, Semut Station, Post Office Building and other places. Participants also listened intently. At the same time, Dukut read a humorous narrative using a distinctive accent and language of Surabaya. It successfully  made the audience laughed and gave applause. The event ended with the handover  of souvenir from committee who represented by YPPI’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Eka Budiadi to Dukut Imam Santosa Widodo.
