The students of the University of Widya Kartika (Uwika) Surabaya asked to establish business clubs as an initial strategy to join entrepreneurship networks. “Please establish students business clubs, I am ready to help opening the network.”, said Hengky Kurnadi, S.H., M.H., a businessman from Surabaya, Thursday, September 19, 2013.
The invitation and opportunity to open businesss club were presented by the board of REI East Java at the end of the Studium Generale event (Public Lecture) at the University of Widya Kartika, Surabaya. Hengky Kurniadi became a single speaker in an event attended by about 150 students and some lecturers of Uwika.
In his presentation at the Public Lecture on “Business Prospects and Strategies of Indonesia in the Center of Current International Situation”,Heng Kurniadi shared his experience of how to be a successful businessman to students of Uwika. He explained the national and international economic conditions today, and what strategies and tacticsthat employers must do in order to continue to grow.
Dealing with international business today,Hengky Kurniadialso talked about the high U.S. dollar exchange rate against Rupiah lately. Recent condition made employers have to be very clever to set strategy, especially those who dealt with export – import.
After the explanation, Hengky Kurniadi gave the opportunity for questions and answers. Students seemed to be eager to gain knowledge directly from this businessman. Public Lecture event which lasted about one hour and a quarter felt exciting so the time went fast.
Rector of the University of Widya Kartika, Dr. Murpin Josua Sembiring, S.E., M.Sc., delivered gratitude upon Mr. Hengky’s willingness to share his experience. Uwika’s Rector also illustrated that many of the Uwika’s students have pioneered their own business while dealing with their college routines.
“If we have many students who have started the business, it will be easier to make business clubs. I am willing to provide the time, thought, and effort to help the students in developing their business. I will also help to open up a business network to a broader market,” said Hengky Kurniadi
